On a Sunday afternoon in late September, 2018, there was a public celebration at the Pocket Park. Brooke Wilkinson and Jeremiah McLane with Ed Eastridge provided music, guests helped fill two long tables with snacks of all sorts, and many people came to see the trees or bushes they had sponsored. (Some even allowed their pictures to be taken.) The weather cooperated, and it was a splendid afternoon.
Several of Jim Kendall's whimsical creatures were scattered here and there in the park for observant visitors to enjoy.
